      "text": "The surgeons that regime licensed carried a standing public duty, printed in the next abstract, auto CXLVIII, from a bando of 24 May 1719: that every surgeon in the capital and in the other cities, towns and villages of the kingdom attend promptly, without waiting for a judge's order, anyone wounded by violence or accident, at whatever hour, and after that first treatment give notice to a royal judge immediately or within eight hours, under penalty of 25 pesos for the first failure, 50 pesos and two years of exile twenty leagues from his residence for the second, and 100 pesos and four years of presidio for the third.",
